A requiem
This donut is oddly cathartic. I sit at this table and wash it down with crush, and it’s delicious. It’s sweet, but it’s not sweet enough to wash away the sting of rejection. The sting of being left behind. Yes this donut is cathartic, and it helps because it’s from you. There is closure in this donut, but I’m too young to know this sorrow, I’m too young to think these thoughts. Yet here I am, eating a donut, thinking of you.
